Farooq Naeem

Farooq Naeem is a Professor of Psychiatry at Queen's University. He is also a cognitive behaviour therapist. He was trained in Psychiatry training scheme in Liverpool, UK. Farooq pioneered techniques for culturally adapting CBT. He has conducted nearly 20 RCTs along with colleagues from Universities in England, Middle East, South East Asia and China. He is considered a leader in global mental health. He currently leads Canada-China and Canada-Middle East Collaboratives that aim to culturally adapt and promote CBT. He is currently working with a team of IT experts and has developed a CBT based therapy program that can be delivered through web and mobile apps- eGuru. He has written 6 books and numerous book chapters. He has published more than 150 papers in peer reviewed journals. His current focus is on low intensity CBT in Canada. He recently published the first study on CBT for pyshocis based Guided self help.
