Christine Purdon

Dr. Purdon has spent over 20 years studying and treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety disorders. Dr. Purdon has over 60 peer-reviewed publications in the area of the persistence of unwanted thoughts, OCD, and attention/mind wandering. She has co-authored a self-help book on treatment of repugnant obsessions, has co-edited a book on treatment of OCD, and has contributed numerous book chapters and encyclopedia entries. A Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Waterloo, Dr. Purdon has taught cognitive-behaviour therapy for 20 years and was the founding Executive Director of the UW Centre for Mental Health Research.
